I don't want to bore you with a big long story about all my accomplishments and my journey to becoming a full time photographer so here is the highlight reel instead of the journal entry!

Hey! Thanks so much for stopping by to get to know me a little better. I'm Lucy - wife and mother to two little ones, originally from the UK and now permanently based in New Zealand. I thrive to capture the raw, beautiful stages of life and all of the in betweens. I'm truly passionate about embracing the perfectly imperfect through the lens of my camera. The new, the old, the growing, the expanding - lets capture it all!
With a sentimental heart, photography captures my creative side and fills up my own "non mum, Lucy" cup. My approach to my work is simple; capture authentic, honest, real moments. I'm a total sentimental homebody, proud introvert and lover of all those intimate, special moments in life - all attributes that I like to reflect in my work.
I first picked up a camera on my journey to become a mum for the second time. Originally this was something to occupy myself, to keep me busy and challenge myself outside of our fertility journey. I felt a thirst to push myself to learn something new, to express myself creatively and to be able to take photos and capture memories of my time with my daughter, Neave. I soon became obsessed and passionate for photography, and instantly decided that the moments in time I was able to capture for my family was something that I could, and should, offer to others. Memories are so precious, time moves by so quickly - how lucky are we to be able to stop time with photographs and capture those moments that otherwise exist in our minds?
I pride myself with my open approach - perfect for befriending all the little ones and getting them (and you) relaxed with the goal to let your personalities shine through, and to capture them as they are right now, and remembered for years to come.

"Lucy felt like a familiar friend coming through the front door...
We had the privilege of having Lucy capture our family in a lifestyle session at home , shortly after the arrival of our son. As any new Mum can relate, it’s nerve wracking having someone visit with a new baby, having the house ready, ensuring you have something other than a dressing gown on… and throwing a boisterous 4yr old sister into the mix too! Lucy felt like a familiar friend coming through the front door. She bought her client wardrobe for me to try on so I had something that fit and flattered me (!!) postpartum, she made my husband feel comfortable and relaxed, and our daughter took to her instantly….she still asks me when she can see Lucy and her camera again (3 months later!) If you are on the fence, don’t be. Lucy is not only a genuinely lovely person, she is also incredibly talented. What she delivers is beautiful, and having these memories captured so flawlessly is priceless. There is a reason her books fill up fast; and she deserves every ounce of the success she has! Your home, from home...
My Christchurch photography studio has been carefully crafted to create a serene and welcoming environment where families can relax and enjoy the special experience of a newborn photoshoot. The calming space is designed to help both parents and their little ones feel at ease. The studio playroom, conveniently attached to the studio, provides the perfect spot for older siblings where they can stay entertained, ensuring they are happily occupied and not a distraction or stress factor during your photo session. Complimentary snacks and refreshments are available to keep everyone comfortable and refreshed, and the nearby park means caregivers can take older children for a walk down just the street to the playground, giving everyone a peaceful break. Capturing those tender first moments with your newborn is a magical experience, and I strive to make it stress-free, intimate, and memorable - a moment of calm and connection amid the whirlwind of life with a new little babe.

Beautiful and natural textures, soft fabrics and neutral tones - the client wardrobe is perfect for babes, toddlers and mothers to be.
The attached playroom is perfect for older siblings so that they too can enjoy the experience and parents can relax during the photoshoot.
To ensure everyone is comfortable, complimentary refreshments are provided for all studio photoshoots - one less thing for you to worry about.
